Sai Shiva Shankar V, the founder of THESeries™, holds a B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering with a specialisation in Pharmacology, is a NASM-certified personal trainer, and brings 15 years of competitive training experience across boxing, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. He has coached over 500 clients, spent six years as a supplement industry dealer evaluating India's leading brands, and designed THESeries™ from scratch as a science-led, research-grounded response to what he identified as a systematic failure of transparency and clinical rigour in the Indian nutraceutical market.
The founder's relationship with physical training began over 15 years ago — not as a lifestyle trend, but as a discipline. Two years of state-level boxing. Seven years of competitive powerlifting. Six years of bodybuilding that produced genuine results across the competitive circuit: two district gold medals, four state gold medals, two state silver medals, and six regional silver medals.
These are not marketing credentials. They represent years of learning how the body responds under real competitive pressure — how nutrition, recovery, and supplementation actually perform when the stakes are real and the environment is unforgiving.
This competitive background gave the founder something that purely academic or laboratory-based formulation cannot provide: an empirical understanding of how the body feels, performs, and recovers under sustained, high-intensity physical demand.
The academic dimension runs equally deep. A B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering with a specialisation in Pharmacology provided the formal scientific foundation: pharmacokinetics, drug-receptor interactions, biological systems modelling, and the principles of bioavailability and clinical dosing.
College research exposure extended across bioinformatics, wet-lab biotechnology, and animal study methodologies. This is a background that understands the difference between in-vitro evidence and in-vivo efficacy — between a mechanistic claim and a clinical outcome — between a branded ingredient and a verified dose.
THESeries™ draws from multi-author, multi-journal citation-driven research. Every ingredient in every formula has a documented mechanistic rationale. No ingredient exists in the formula because it sounds good or photographs well.
Three years as a fitness and club manager cum senior personal trainer, and then an extended independent coaching career, produced over 500 client transformations — online and offline, across body composition goals, athletic performance, and lifestyle health management.
NASM CPT certification provided the structured programming foundation. But the coaching experience provided something else: direct, iterative feedback on how supplementation performs in real populations, with real compliance rates, real dietary variability, and real life getting in the way.
The founder saw, at scale, what works and what doesn't. He saw what clients needed and what they were being sold. He saw the gap between the two — and he kept documenting it.
Six years as a supplement industry dealer provided comprehensive, ground-level access to the industry's inner workings. The founder evaluated products from most of the major Indian and imported brands — not as a brand ambassador, not through sponsored samples, but as a trade professional buying, stocking, and recommending products to real customers.
What he observed was consistent and, ultimately, damaging to his confidence in the category as a whole. Underdosed formulas dressed up in clinical-sounding language. Proprietary blends masking ingredient quantities. Ingredient selections driven by cost margin rather than mechanism. Marketing that outpaced the science by several orders of magnitude.
The athlete in him was frustrated. The pharmacologist in him was offended. And the coach in him — who had recommended these products to 500+ clients — felt a professional obligation to do something different.
THESeries™ was not built in a hurry. The formulation process began with a question: what would a nutraceutical brand look like if it was designed entirely from the evidence base, with no concessions to cost-cutting, no marketing-led ingredient selection, and no compromise on transparency?
The answer became the NEPI–ECS framework — a systems-level formulation philosophy that treats the human body as the integrated system it actually is, rather than a collection of isolated biochemical levers to be pulled one at a time.
The three products — THE Stride™, THE Lift™, and THE Sleep™ — are the first expressions of that framework. They are not the beginning of a marketing campaign. They are the result of years of research, competitive experience, clinical thinking, and genuine conviction that the Indian nutraceutical market deserves something better.
THESeries™ is, by design, a brand-first company. The founder's credentials and story support the brand's credibility — they do not supersede it. The long-term mission is to build a nutraceutical brand that can be cited with confidence: by coaches, by athletes, by researchers, and eventually by clinicians.
